I've never understood how something like this can create such a demand from parents. I know that making children happy is very important, but the happiness these rats bring is very fleeting. How long before these things get old? I would say three minutes. At 50 bucks you're 1/3 of the way to a Nintendo Wii. A Wii is much more fun and stimulating for a child.

Any parent that would spend that kind of money on these should have their head examined. Just because your kid wants something, doesn't mean you should get it for them. It's your job to say as a parent, "I know you want that rat sweetie, but that's retarded." It's called responsibility and sometimes responsibility means telling your kid that they're retarded.

Patches, Mr. Squiggles, Chunk, Pipsqueek, Numnums these are tiny robotic hamsters that are poised to be this years tickle my elmo. These robotic hamsters interact with humans and other robo hampsters to make annoying noises. Their one advantage is they don't leave tiny piles of feces around. These little Chinese rodents are supposed to retail for about 10 dollars, but the run on these has driven the Amazon.com price to 37.00 to 50.00 bucks. Though if you can find them at Walmart, you can get them out the door for 10 bucks. Is Mr. Squiggles worth 50 dollars if it makes your kid happy?
